Uncle Vova is a rural Ukrainian oddball who constantly develops fantastic business projects that always fail. His most recent project is aimed at finding the remains of German soldiers who fell in the World War II and selling them to their relatives in Germany. The documentary is not only an ironic portrait of Uncle Vova and his business projects, but also a drama picturing the lost generation of Ukrainians, born in the USSR after the war, who had drifted away from their parents’ values, but didn’t succeed though in adjusting to the new rules of life. Their attempts to fit in with the modern world seem funny and at the same time tragic.

Roman Bondarchuk:"It's very important for me to see, whether modern Uncles Vova's, so numerous in Ukraine, can turn back to a normal life, back to the real values. Or whether they will keep going crazy and cynical business projects. The future of my country depends on it."
